**Volunteer Position: Operations Coordinator**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced volunteer to fill the role of Operations Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting founders or entrepreneurs, with exceptional organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to streamline complex workflows. This role will play a vital part in aligning various aspects of our organization’s operations, including e-commerce, online sales, events, imports, customer care, social media, networking, growth strategies, and more. Your job is to get us organized in preparation for growth and hiring.
– Collaborate with the founder to develop a clear understanding of the organization’s goals and vision.
– Create a structured framework to categorize and prioritize tasks, and develop departments within the organization for efficient workflow.
– Organize and manage e-commerce activities, including Amazon sales, website sales, and collaborations with boutiques.
– Oversee the planning and execution of pop-up events, ensuring seamless operations and positive customer experiences.
– Assist in handling imports, customs, and shipping logistics between Kenya and the USA.
– Support the accounting process and ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
– Manage social media platforms, create engaging content, and contribute to blogging efforts.
– Collaborate with the founder to develop growth strategies, networking opportunities, and public relations efforts.
– Participate in strategic meetings and contribute ideas for improving efficiency and impact.
– Assist with customer care and inquiries, ensuring timely and satisfactory responses.
– Contribute to grant writing and empowerment initiatives in Kenya, aligning with the organization’s mission.
– Help set up systems and utilize technology to streamline operations and improve productivity.
– Work closely with the founder to prepare for the future hiring of a team, ensuring a smooth transition.
– Experience working with founders or entrepreneurs, preferably in a nonprofit or socially conscious context.
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to create and maintain efficient workflows.
– Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
– Proficiency in e-commerce platforms, social media management, and basic accounting principles.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
– A passion for social impact, women’s empowerment, and global development.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a virtual team.
– Comfortable with technology and willingness to learn new systems.
